Introduction to Photography Course - 9th Sept 2013

05th August 2013
Our next Introduction to Photography course is just a few weeks from beginning and these are proving to be really popular for anyone who is just starting out on their photographic journey.

It is an ideal photography course for beginners as we are able to take you right from the basics to being proficient and able to understand all of the elements that are essential to creative photography.

Our 6 week course, which includes 6 evening classes as well as two practical photography tuition sessions, is just £360 per person and we cover all of the following items and photographic techniques:

- Setting up your camera
- Understanding apertures and shutter speeds
- How to obtain correct exposure
- Focussing techniques; selective focussing
- Aperture priority mode; shutter priority mode
- Freeze action; create energy and showing movement
- Controlling depth-of-field; how to blur the background
- Photographic composition hints and tips

...and we cover much more.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn in a relaxed environment, with like-minded people. Kay has been teaching photography for Adult Education in Central Bedfordshire for over 15 years and knows how daunting the long courses can be. This course covers all the core techniques and skills that would be taught in the first term on the City & Guilds Level 2 course, but without the coursework and long-term commitment needed.
If you want to learn just how to get the most from your camera but don't want the headache of coursework and qualifications then this is the course for you.

Kay and Will are both looking forward to meeting the new intake on this course and enjoying more lightbulb moments!

For full details of a typical course itinerary and when the next available dates are, head over to the Photography Courses page.

We are now running our beginners photography course in Bedfordshire at The Rufus Centre in Flitwick, just along the road from Flitwick Leisure Centre. We've been lucky enough to have participants join us from as far afield as Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, St Neots in Cambridgeshire, Kettering in Northamptonshire and Stevenage in Hertfordshire.

If a full course just isn't for you or you find that the dates don't fit around work or other commitments, then please drop us a line at - we'll be more than happy to suggest other options or put together a bespoke photography course for you. We've brought together a number of small groups of budding photographers, who have found that it's great fun being able to learn together and at a time and pace that suits them.
